Gibson Custom Shop Kirk Hammett signature ‘Greeny’ - one of the most iconic Les Paul’s ever created. A rare opportunity to buy one of these in in factory/case-queen condition, at thousands under the typical online price.

The story of “Greeny” is shrouded in mystery, but few guitars are as illustrious. Previously owned by Peter Green, it was used throughout his time with Fleetwood Mac and later sold to Gary Moore, who used it for three decades with Thin Lizzy and as a solo artist. Now owned by Kirk Hammett, Greeny has passed through the hands of three legendary guitarists. 

The Gibson Custom Shop spent months painstakingly analysing Greeny to deliver the most authentic replica on the market. Features include a lightweight Mahogany body and hand selected Figured Maple top for the ultimate tonewood partnership. Rich and super resonant it offers premium tone and timeless aesthetics. Each Gibson Custom Greeny is subjected to the Murphy Lab's proprietary ageing techniques, giving this guitar the look of a well used Rock 'n' Roll relic! The attention to detail is honestly stunning and does a great job of capturing Greeny's vintage vibe - it's covered in lacquer checking which we've tried to capture on a few of the close-up photos.

The Mahogany neck is topped with a crisp Rosewood fingerboard with classic Gibson Trapezoid inlays, this guitar looks every bit the real deal. With a 24.75" scale length and a Custom Greeny profile, it retains that classic Les Paul feel. The ABR1 Tune-0-Matic bridge and light weight tailpiece offer an authentic vintage vibe. It's all original and there's lovely attention to detail, like the switched tuners, simulated headstock repair, and tiny KH initials on the rear - as per the original Greeny.

Greenys defining feature really is that iconic middle position, and Gibson have spent countless months reverse engineering Greenys original pickups in order to better understand what causes its legendary tone. These brand new Greenybuckers are built to Greeny spec and perfectly capture the originals mojo. With a really unique sonic character it is versatile, dynamic and offers crystal clear note definition. This highly collectible guitar comes complete with its factory aged original case and all of its paperwork.
