Brand new and unplayed Made 2 Measure '56 reissue Les Paul with a rare hand-picked flamed top (pictured in both studio and natural light for comparison) and Murphy lab ageing (it's covered in lacquer checking on close inspection). Delivered directly to us by a Gibson authorised main dealer on the day of this listing (proof of purchase available). An outstanding opportunity to save big vs the £6500 retail price on this model.  

1956 was the only full year in which the Les Paul model featured the powerful P-90 pickups and the adjustable ABR-1 bridge setup, a combination that allowed the Les Paul model to intonate, sustain, and thrill like never before. This Gibson Custom Shop '56 Reissue captures the look, feel, and searing sound of an original 1956 Les Paul in exhaustive detail. Featuring all solid woods, vintage-accurate gold paint, authentic replica parts, Medium Jumbo Frets and hot hide glue construction. It also features Ultra Light Aging by the skilled artisans of the Murphy Lab. The Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged finish treatment, paired with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of light play wear, giving it the unique character, vibe, and feel of an original example from the Gibson Golden Era. We've included a couple of close-up photos in an attempt to illustrate the lacquer checking which covers the guitar.

It's a lightweight example at only 8lb 2oz and features include a one-piece Mahogany body and a hide glue fitted two-piece handpicked maple cap. The one-piece Mahogany neck features a long tenon neck joint, which gives this guitar a notable increase in sustain and resonance. It has a Carmelita C shape that feels great underhand and gives this stunning re-issue a real vintage feel. The Indian Rosewood fingerboard features 22 historic medium jumbo frets, and a 12 radius. It has an ABR-1 no-wire bridge, lightweight Aluminium stopbar and Kluson tuners.

Finall its fitted with a pair of Custom P-90 Soapbar pickups that are hand-wired to 500k CTS potentiometers and paper-in-oil capacitors. Both pickups are well balanced and sound great clean or with some gain, they'll handle just about anything you want to throw at them.

Being a new guitar it comes with everything as it came from factory, including its original Lifton case and it's candy - all new/unopened.
