1961 brought some big changes to the Gibson Les Paul, most notably a sleek, all-new, double-cutaway, and lightweight all-Mahogany body design that would later be renamed the SG.

 

This Gibson Custom Shop model recreates those cherished originals, complete with a Sideways Vibrola, a side-pull action vibrato that is similar to those found on models from the early 1960s.

 

It's in near-mint condition and we could only find one barely visible blemish on the edge (if being very picky!)

 

Other key features include a Mahogany neck with binding and comfortable '61 thin profile, nitro VOS finish, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, medium jumbo frets, 12" radius, Kluson tuners, and ABR-1 Tune-o-matic bridge. It comes with its special anniversary backplate currently fitted, and a plain one is included in the case if preferred.

 

Tone-wise you get 2x Custombucker pickups for sensational tone, 2x volume controls, 2x tone controls, 3-way Switchcraft pickup selector, Switchcraft output jack, CTS 500k Potentiometers and a hand-wired harness with Black Beauty Capacitors. Essentially, no expense has been spared to ensure that it's a guitar that is as good as it gets.

  

It comes with its original hardcase, COA and anniverssary paperwork as pictured.
