This stunning '63 reissue Custom Shop beauty is a rare find that accurately recreates the original construction methods and specs. These were made in limited numbers and it's easy to see why these sold out immediately upon original release.

The Murphy Lab aged finish treatment, paired with lightly aged hardware, simulates decades of subtle playing wear — giving it the unique character, vibe and feel of an original example from Gibson's "Golden Era". It's absolutely covered in lacquer checking, which is difficult to fully appreciate until the guitar is in hand. 

The last year of the "Les Paul" moniker on the SG Custom was also the first year of the Maestro Vibrola - 1963. The solid Ebony fingerboard and revamped vintage-style electronics help it attain new sonic heights with clarity and sustain. From the dimensions, to the contours and to the precise inlay patterns to the sonic experience — it's the top-of-the-line SG in every respect! Other key features include a solid Mahogany body, a luxurious feeling and super-comfortable aged slim-taper 1960 neck, 12" radius, medium jumbo frets, Mother of Pearl block inlays, long tenon join with hide glue fit, ABR bridge, Grover kidney tuners and of course that desirable long Maestro vibrola.

Tone-wise you get 3x unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups for sensational tone, 2x volume controls, 2x tone controls, 3-way Switchcraft pickup selector, Switchcraft output jack, CTS 500k Audio Taper Potentiometers and Black Beauty Capacitors.
