2006 Gibson Custom Historic 1956 Les Paul - Gold Top

Custom Shop Historic '56 Reissue finished in classic Gold. 

It's in very good condition with some minor blemishes on close inspection - most of which are not visible unless shining direct light on them, which we have done in the close-up photos to help to highlight them and make them visible. The frets have just minor signs of use (cosmetic only and not effecting playability) and theres a few marks at the heel joint that are in the wood and under the lacquer (from factory). There's no breaks or repairs and everything works as it should. 

Articulate and resonant, this R6 is a great example of Gibson Custom Shop quality, and a textbook example of what quality tonewoods are capable of. There are few things finer than the rich warmth of Mahogany paired with a carved Maple top that adds cut and attack. The quartersawn Mahogany neck has a chunky but comfortable early 50’s rounded profile and it has a 1-piece Rosewood fretboard with Pearloid trapezoid inlays, Nickel hardware, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with Stopbar Tailpiece, hot-hide neck glue and Gibson vintage style tuners.  

The sonic powerhouse of the R6 remains its 2x fat single-coil P-90 pickups, beloved since the 1940s for their aggressive midrange, solid low end, and sparkling, silky highs—with that ever so slightly gritty edge for added cutting power. They have plenty of power when driven, but crystal clean tones when you back off the guitar’s volume controls. 

It comes with its original Custom Historic hardshell case and certificate of authenticity.
