Introduced in Nashville during 2002, and built as a limited production run in the Memphis Custom Shop, the Gibson ES-137 is intended to combine two of Gibson's most successful designs - the resonance of the thinline archtop ES models, and the solidity of the Les Paul classic. However, this instrument is thicker than a thinline model, and uses mahogany instead of maple for the centre block.
This 'Premier' edition has a small block inlays and a special 'P' inlay on the 12th fret. The top was professionally refinished by No.Tom Guitars (Denmark Street) to white. The original P-90 pickups were also upgraded to Gibson Classic '57 PAF humbuckers for a fatter tone, and it's had a proper bone nut also fitted.
Other features include a Laminated Maple body, a medium profile Mahogany neck with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width, 22 frets and Grover tuners.
Cosmetically it's in great shape. It has light surface scratches and minor blemishes on close inspection (as photographed). The frets are also excellent with only minor signs of use. No breaks or repairs and everything works as it should without issue.
It comes with its original hard case to keep it protected and paperwork as pictured.
