This late-90s Martin D-45 represents the pinnacle of acoustic guitar craftsmanship — a true heirloom instrument built to inspire for generations. Handcrafted in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, this top of the range guitar showcases Martin’s time-honoured tradition of excellence, featuring stunning premium tonewoods and exquisite detailing that set the D-45 apart as the flagship of their model line.

This example is in very good condition for a 26 year old guitar. It has no breaks/repairs and just surface blemishes from play over the decades - we've highlighted these under direct studio lighting on the photos to make them more visible and exaggerate them vs normal lighting conditions where they are far less obvious. It's ageing beautifully with  some barely visible lacquer checking if you search closely for it. The frets are also in great shape with minor signs of use, and no issues. All in all it's got all the hall-marks of an acoustic which has been loved and played for the best part of 3 decades - and is all the better for it.

With its solid Sitka spruce top and beautifully grained East Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar delivers the rich, balanced tone that has made the D-45 a legend among players and collectors alike. The abalone inlay work adorning the top, rosette, and fingerboard gleams under light, complementing the bound ebony fingerboard and classic diamond-and-square fret markers. It also plays beautifully with a lower action that you will find on a lot of Martin acoustics, and has had a under saddle pickup installed at some stage (no battery required)  - it sounds great both unplugged and amped.
