Heavily upgraded (WAL style) mid-90's Stingray Bass finished in black.

The bass is in very good condition for its age with various wear/blemishes on close inspection. It plays well, and as you would expect from an instrument of this quality.

Standard features include an Ash body, Birdseye Maple neck with comfortable C profile and Rosewood fingerboard. It has been significantly upgraded (all reversible) to enable the player to access a huge range of tones. The standard pickup has been swapped out for a Nordstrand that is vastly superior to the original. The really exciting part of this bass is the electronics. The previous owner has exchanged the preamp for a Lusithand Double NPF system, based on the WAL bass preamps that are so iconic and desired for their tone and essentially making it more like a 2 pickup bass. The player has access to Pot 1 (volume), Pot 2 (blend between the two coils of the humbucking pickup), Pots 3 + 4 (EQ’s for each coil). The pots sweep through the filter frequency range rather like an analog synth does. The pots are push pull and in the up position they add resonance to the eq at the cutoff frequency set by the pot, so the tonal possibilities are huge. You have two EQ’s (one for each coil) that can be blended together, making the tonal range significant. This bass really is a WAL bass in Stingray clothing.
