1996 Ernie Ball Music Man Axis – Blue Translucent

In very good condition for age, with just a few blemishes (some of which are barely visible unless closely inspecting and bouncing light onto the surface - as we have done in the photos to exaggerate them). The frets are in excellent condition and everything works as it should without issue.

It is a sleek and powerful instrument that blends striking looks with uncompromising performance. Evolving from the original Eddie Van Halen signature model, the Axis retains the same bold silhouette and fast-playing feel that made it legendary. Its basswood body, topped with a highly figured maple cap, produces a lively, resonant tone with rich mids and sparkling highs. The bolt-on, highly figured maple neck, finished with Music Man’s signature hand-rubbed oil and wax blend, feels smooth and broken-in right from the first play, while the 22-fret maple fingerboard delivers snap, clarity, and precision across the entire range.

The Axis is fitted with two custom-wound DiMarzio humbuckers, direct-mounted to the body for added resonance and sustain. These pickups are voiced for hot, articulate rock tones, easily shifting from searing leads to tight, punchy rhythm work. A simple control layout with a three-way toggle and master volume and tone keeps the focus on playability and sound, while the Floyd Rose tremolo system, paired with Schaller locking tuners, ensures rock-solid tuning stability even under the most aggressive dive-bombs. 

It has a couple of mods and upgrades - including an EVA D-Tuna, the top-locking nut has been replaced at some stage, and it has raw vintage springs. It comes with its original case to keep it protected.
