Super-rare and collectible Japanese/USA Epiphone Nouveau Spotlight - only made for 1 year due to a PRS lawsuit which forced Epiphone to stop production.
A brief bit of history - Sometime around Norlin's 1987 sale of Gibson, the decision was made to produce the 'Nouveau' line of guitars. The Gibson Nouveaus were going to consist of necks and bodies made in Japan and assembled and finished in Nashville and branded as American Made. Although the original sales literature introduces these as purely Gibson guitars, somewhere between manufacturing and finishing, they became known as the Epiphone Spotlight series, resulting in an Japanese-made, USA assembled Epiphone. The first solid-body 'Epiphone' branded electrics were manufactured from February 1988 and by early 1989 the entire Nouveau line was discontinued due to a PRS lawsuit which forced Epiphone to stop production.
It's in exceptional condition for its age with very little in the way of blemishes/wear and everything works as it should without issue.
The specs include a Mahogany body with Maple top, a comfortable Mahogany neck with neck through construction, Ebanol fingerboard, chevron inlays, Steinberger tremolo with arm, Gibson diamond inlay, 24 frets, a vintage style tremolo and EMG Select pickups with coil tapping for single coil tones - it's highly versatile. We've included a brand new gig bag for transportation.
