Highly sought after 70’s vintage Les Paul Custom - this one is fitted with a trem and is finished in Wine Red and with a nicely figured body. Previously owned by Mike Smitham of 60's and 70's hit-makers 'The Fortunes', this powerhouse Les Paul plays like a dream, with a nice low action.

Very good condition for 45 year old vintage guitar with just the normal signs of wear that you’d expect – some light rash on the back that hasn’t gone through to the wood, the odd ding here and there, and some wear to the binding etc – see pics. It's has a refret and the frets are now in exceptional condition, and there are no breaks or repairs.

The spec includes the traditional Mahogany body combined with a slim-profile Maple neck, premium Ebony fingerboard and gold tuners. It's been fitted with a premium Kahler 2200 pro trem which works superbly, and finally copper insulation has been applied to the internal control cavity/cover to eliminate any interference - all work completed by a pro luthier.

In 2006 the original owner commissioned Bare Knuckle Pickups to replicate a pair of Tom Holmes H450/455 pickups. Tom designed Gibson's 57 Classic humbuckers and his H450/455 pickups are the PAFs against which all others are measured, often retailing at over £1000 a set. The resulting pickups produced for this guitar are so close that they are almost indistinguishable, with incredible, big Les Paul tone. In addition, the pickups were also created with four-wire conductors which allows for coil tapping, allowing you to use the push-pull tone pots to switch between humbucker and single coil tones - making this not only an astonishing sounding Les Paul, but also incredibly versatile.

It comes with a Gibson hard case to protect it (lock removed but all catches working) and its trem-arm.
