Beautiful, vintage ES-330TDC finished in classic Cherry.
Introduced in 1959 as the successor to the ES-225, the ES-330 bridged the gap between the new centre block guitars and Gibson’s classic archtops of the previous decades, becoming a firm favourite with players such as BB King and Grant Green not to mention the rhythm guitar of choice for many others.
This is a great looking guitar that has aged well and has clearly been played over the years, with various wear as per the photos. It is absolutely covered in lacquer checking which looks amazing when it catches the light. There is some fretwear/pitting to the fretboard as you'd expect for its age, but it plays beautifully (no buzzing, choking etc) and without any issue. It has a repaired stress line on the back of the headstock (likely from impact to one of the tuners looking at its position), but this does not travel around the full neck and wasn't a break or major headstock repair - it is cosmetic only and not affecting functionality in any way.
The spec includes a Maple body, a beautifully worn-in, and comfortable Mahogany neck with a relatively slim neck profile, Rosewood fingerboard with block inlays, Kluson tuners, Bigbsy tremolo, and P-90 pickups for those classic warm, choppy, mellow sounds from the neck pickup and brighter woody bite and cut from the bridge pickup.
This is a superb, very lightweight guitar (only 6lb 4oz), from a great year in Gibson's manufacture, and it will appeal to both collectors and players. It comes complete with a modern Gibson fitted case to provide maximum protection.
This icon was built in the famous Kalamazoo factory and is in very good condition for age, with various surface marks and blemishes on close inspection and some wear to the binding etc. We've highlighted (and exaggerated) everything on our photos under direct studio lighting to make everything as visible as possible on the photos. No fret issues, breaks or repairs and everything works as it should.
The spec includes a double-cutaway arched Maple top with f-holes, comfortable slim/medium profile neck, Black pickguard, Trapeze tailpiece, Rosewood fretboard with block inlays, Black headstock faceplate with pearl crown logo. The bridge has been upgraded at some stage, as have the tuners which are now quality Gibson Deluxe tuners.
The original tarback pickups sound fantastic, and there's the traditional twin volume/tone controls per pickup and the 3-way switch.
It comes with its original case to keep this vintage beauty protected.
