Stunning Murphy Lab aged '64 reissue SG finished in classic Cherry Red. It's in exceptional condition and the ageing treatment is beautiful on close inspection (covered in lacquer checking with some minor blemishes).

Regardless of the fact that George Harrison and Eric Clapton rocked a '64 SG Standard, that model year was clearly a standout for SG's in general. The clunky side-pull vibrato had been replaced by the dependable Maestro Vibrola. The neck profiles had increased in size, resembling the profile found on 1959 Les Pauls, and the balance, playability and look of the SG seemed to come into its own.

Along with the Maestro Vibrola and chunky medium-C neck profile, it has all the hyper-accurate vintage specs one could possibly want - original construction methods, a real red aniline dye finish, chemically-recreated plastics, replica electronics, and more. The result is perhaps the best looking, feeling and sounding SG Reissue yet. Other key features include a 1-piece lightweight body, nitro VOS (vintage patina) finish, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, medium jumbo frets, 12" radius, ABR-1 bridge, and Kluson tuners.

Tone-wise you get 2x unpotted Custombucker Alnico 3 pickups for sensational tone, 2x volume controls, 2x tone controls, 3-way Switchcraft pickup selector, Switchcraft output jack, CTS 500k Audio Taper Potentiometers and Black Beauty Capacitors. Essentially, no expense has been spared to ensure that it's a guitar that is as good as it gets.

  

It comes  with its original hardcase, COA and paperwork, plus even a cutting from the original Gibson delivery box.
