The back of the neck has been lightly sanded to remove the traditional 'stickiness' and then oiled to give it a luxurious smooth feel - its wonderful to play. The frets are excellent and there's no breaks or repairs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eArticulate and resonant, this R8 is a great example of Gibson Custom Shop quality, and a textbook example of what quality tonewoods are capable of. There are few things finer than the rich warmth of mahogany paired with a carved maple top that adds cut and attack. The quartersawn mahogany neck has a chunky but comfortable 50’s rounded profile and it has a Rosewood fretboard with Pearloid trapezoid inlays, Nickel hardware, ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge with Stopbar Tailpiece, and Deluxe vintage style tuners.
