Introduced in Nashville during 2002, and built as a limited production run in the Memphis Custom Shop, the Gibson ES-137 Classic is intended to combine two of Gibson's most successful designs - the resonance of the thinline archtop ES models, and the solidity of the Les Paul classic. However, this instrument is thicker than a thinline model, and uses mahogany instead of maple for the centre block.

This beautiful early example is finished in Blue Burst and is in very good condition with just minor wear/blemishes on close inspection - as exaggerated under direct lighting to make them visible for the photos.

Bringing together the florentine cutaway, arch top body with the solid Mahogany centre block, and using most of the hardware from a Les Paul including the 490R/498T humbucker pickups, tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece, the ES-137 is a very versatile guitar and has a comfortable rounded profile neck, Rosewood fingerboard, Grover tuners and gold hardware.

It comes with its original hard case to keep it protected, and paperwork as pictured,
