It has an older refinish in Olympic White which has aged and yellowed beautifully over many years.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Jaguar was released in 1962 as Fender’s all new top of the range guitar and has enjoyed iconic status ever since. This beautiful example is in very good condition for a 64 year old vintage guitar and everything works as it should without any playability or electrical issues. It plays beautifully with a relatively low action and has a wonderful feeling neck with a slim-medium profile.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has had some modifications over its 64 year life which are detailed below:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn terms of the electrics it has its original bridge pickup (recently had the winding repaired by ‘Green Pickups’) and a later 60’s grey back\/staggered poles Jaguar pickup in the neck position. The pots appear to be original and they (alongside the cavities\/wiring) have some traces of orange paint (presumably there was an orange refinish at some stage prior to the current Olympic White). The Rhythm\/Lead switch has been replaced with a modern switch and the pickup selection switches have also been changed, albeit many years ago.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn terms of hardware, the Fender bridge cups were replaced due to the originals degrading (included in case). The grub screws for the bridge have been replaced with low-profile screws for comfort (the originals are included in the case). It has a new mute foam as the original had degraded (original included in the case). One of the volume knobs has a small chip, and the B-string tuner is slightly stiffer, but it is functional and doesn’t jam. The truss rod works fine.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn terms of the neck, it benefits from a refret and a replaced nut due to the original degrading (original included in case). The headstock finish looks to be original and so does the logo. The fretboard is in very good shape and the back of the neck has worn comfortably and feels great to play. It looks like it has original finish on the back of the neck but could be a very old overspray. The neck date is August 1962. The celluloid pickguard has shrunk slightly but is still in good condition and is an original tortoiseshell guard.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis guitar sounds fantastic. Unplugged there’s a vibrancy that isn’t always evident in these offset guitars. Once plugged in, the guitar has a wide palette of tones available and both pickups work well so as to make any option a good one, again a statement that can’t be made about all Jaguars unfortunately.
